Hi and thanks for writing!

They really are despicable. That kind of service brings down the entire careers industry and leaves consumers feeling like we're all scammers.

I haven't kept up on their numbers, buck back in February of 2009 Alexandre Douzet (Co-founder and President of the Ladders) boasted about having 2 million monthly subscribers with 30,000 resumes written. At one time, Marc Cenedella stated that they have 2.7 million monthly subscribers. The amount of money these guys have lined their pockets with is just incredible.

Yes, it proves how successful they are -- but I don't agree with their business practices at all!

I've just been trying to get the word out as much as I can. Did you see my old post on the topic?

Jennifer, Wow, you know I've been suspicious about The Ladders for quite some time. I tried them out for about six months (the Marketing Ladders side) and barely even found anything to apply for let alone get an interview, so I cancelled it. Someone from the company did follow up asking me why I cancelled and I just told them I didn’t think they really had listings for my line of work (creative services, graphic design, art director, etc.). It was not useful for me, but at the time I didn’t really consider it a scam either. However, I often noticed their listings were the same as on other free sites like Monster and/or were simply from headhunters. Definitely not worth paying for!
